differential equations
I passed my differential equations course at Manatee Community College back in 2008 with Altay Özgener. He was a tough math teacher, so passing his class was a challenge; but it provided me a more proper understanding of the subject than if it had been a more simple course. If you understand that a differential equation is simply an equation that contains at least one derivative, then you can begin to understand all of the methods covered in the course for solving such equations. The solution to a differential equation is a function. Calculus is a required understanding before attempting this subject since calculus deals with derivatives and integration. Having memorized certain common, and some not so common derivatives is a must because you must understand how a function relates to its derivatives.

I have tutored young children in the past. In fact, I was once the district coordinator for a private tutoring company which was one of five SES (Supplementary Educational Services) providers for Manatee County. The main focus of this SES program was younger children (K-6). For English, the focus is mostly pronunciation and reading comprehension with straightforward questions pertaining to short passages that follow before. For mathematics, the focus is typically ranging from counting, simple discrete math type problems, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, to sometimes pre algebra and geometry for the 5th and 6th graders. I understand the extra patience, enthusiasm, and attention to detail required for younger children compared to older kids.

Brandon G tutored an 8yr old boy for approximately 6 weeks during the summer break.
