The reason why I picked Roger was because from a review I read: "he figures out how you learn and he teaches to that". Sure enough, this is exactly what he did for me as well. Before we met, he asked me about myself and what I wished to accomplish? Upon our meeting he had a prepared lesson plan, with clear defined objectives based upon our previous conversation. In just 2 hours he taught me more about Excel than I learned in the past 2 years. In a short period of time Roger was able to determine my learning style (something that I have not been able to figure out for myself in over 40 years). He also presented me with a learning guide that I can use to assist me in understanding my own learning style better and actual things that I can do to maximize my time in learning new material more efficiently and effectively. Roger is an amazing tutor, and I highly recommend him. I hadn't taken an Excel class in over two years and didn't understand it at all but, the very fundamentals. I tried to learn on my own - I found WyzAnt online and decided to give tutoring a try. After only one session with Roger, I actually understood how to go about solving the problems (or at least a good portion of them!). I would imagine that there are a lot of tutors who are patient and knowledgeable about the subject they teach, but what sets Roger apart is the fact that he can figure out how you learn and then teach to that. Once Roger could see how I attempted to tackle a problem, he adapted his teaching style so that I could understand how actually solve it.
