I have helped create the business curriculum and required classes in each concentration at our college. I taught financial and managerial accounting, cost accounting, and many classes in corporate finance, having earned my BS and MBA in finance. I actively taught how to prepare the income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flow, and statement of retained earnings for publicly listed companies on the NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX. I taught generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), but discussed with students that we are transitioning to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). We analyzed and evaluated the 10K and 10Q report and the students presented their audit simulation on a fictionalized company with other professors present. Career wise, I discussed certifications such as the CPA, CMA, CFA, and CFP, with the students.
