I had my first Spanish teaching experience while in a very small village in Costa Rica. I taught children and adults, ages 6-60. The main focus was Eco-tourism, as their village was losing business by not being able to give tours to English-only speakers. I found it very rewarding to not only teach a village new vocabulary and ideas related to Eco-tourism, but also to actually see a positive change in their small, Eco-tourism based economy.
