Learning by making connections
My philosophy of teaching is that by creating connections between the "target information" and other knowledge that we already have, we are better able to learn the new information, and better yet, comprehend it within a context. My own learning depended on these connections; I have never enjoyed learning something that felt irrelevant, but I did have a personal inclination for drawing connections from what I was learning to the things I already knew.
