Hi, I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Puerto Rico. My native language is Spanish. I have 20+ years of experience teaching all levels of Spanish from ABC to more complicated Spanish structure. If you considered yourself a beginner in Word, I can help you understand and use the ribbon (icons on top of the page in Word). You will be able to create a document using clip art, bold, italics, underline letters, change fonts, cut and paste, indent a paragraph, change margins, save a document, etc. All my handouts, tables, graphs, and exams that I use for my classes are done in Word and Excel. I have used Word 97 for many years and now I am using Word 2010.

Before the Internet came along, word processing was the "it" in every office and home. I studied to become a word processing operator in the 80s. I learned 7 different programs/computers (Lanier, IBM, Word Perfect, Merge File Text, etc. Word Processors were in demand, so I had the opportunity to work in several offices with different machines. It was great. Recently, I have helped/tutored 2 individuals over 40 to not be afraid to computers. I taught how to attach a resume to a job application, send emails with attachments, create, print, and save documents in Word. If you are a beginner, I'll be glad to help you! Thanks.

I had my first meeting with Millie yesterday for college level Spanish tutoring. My Spanish class had me in tears the day before we met. She responded very quickly and made herself available for tutoring less than 24 hours after I contacted her. Let me just say that I am so glad I found her! I have taken a couple of months of Spanish lessons from Millie, and I couldn't ask for a better tutor. She is always easy to reach, flexible, approachable, and professional. She clearly has a wealth of experience teaching a wide range of students. Her book has been exceptionally helpful to keep me on track with a variety of different exercises, and she provides additional resources wherever they are needed. She is quite sensitive to my language needs. For example, when I try to venture into using the vocabulary of my profession (which was my original impetus to learn Spanish), she is accommodating and elicits as much conversation from me as I am capable of, asking simple questions and supporting me with new vocabulary and syntax. She also makes sure to teach an array of dialectal variations, specifying which region uses which variation of a word, conjugation, etc. Perhaps most importantly, Millie has a passion for teaching that is very obvious. She is a pleasure to be around and has a wonderful attitude. Though I started out learning Spanish purely as a career move, she has made it positively enjoyable to study and move forward with the language. I highly recommend her lessons, as I now look forward to them every week!

Our daughter missed almost 4 weeks of school, due to having emergency surgery. She was extremely behind in Spanish and became stressed because it is such a hard subject anyway.
