Paul tutors my son in AP Calculus. At first I was concerned that a remote tutor would not be effective. This is not so. Paul comes to the lesson well prepared. He explains concepts in detail, while fully engaging the student. He asks good questions that give him insight as to what the student does and doesn't understand and takes his direction from there. I am impressed that Paul provides notes from the session. These have been useful, and my son has referred back to these in order to prepare for his tests. Paul has a good grasp of the subject matter. This allows him to explain the work from many angles and to relate it back to other work. For my son he has related some of his calculus work to his AP Physics class. All in all, Paul has made a difference for my son. He has had a number of those 'aha' moments. Meanwhile Paul is receptive to questions, relates well and is not condescending in any way.
