I'm so glad I found Mrs. V! I had a great feeling about her after our initial conversation. She asked a lot of questions in order to gain a full understanding of my son's needs. It was also clear from then that she focuses on a student's strengths, while addressing weaknesses. Mrs. V helped my son prepare for the 8th grade writing assignment in just a few weeks. Before he started working with her he was struggling. After a few sessions his writing skills improved drastically (to the point where he wrote an essay and I questioned whether or not it was actually written by him!). His teacher also noted an improvement, not just in his skills but in his overall approach to writing. She commented that he now takes more pride in his work and asks for feedback. Mrs. V helped build his confidence by providing him with the skills he was lacking. She also made tutoring sessions interesting.
