Giulia
Italian tutor and cooking classes
Born in Italy, I lived and studied there till I graduated from college at the Univesita' degli Studi di Urbino. I moved to the States in 2008, and here is where I found my passion for teaching all I know about my country of origin, Italian language and Italian cuisine. I'm a friendly, energetic and happy person, and I love to share my positive energy with all around me. I worked as an Italian instructor at Kennesaw State University, and I currently teach online for a private company. I am ...

Giulia is exceptional as an Italian tutor in every regard. She has a very educated knowledge of the intricacies of grammar and knows how to present it in a very understandable way to a non-speaker. She is also very energetic and provides much more than just language tutoring, as she is always very excited to explain cultural nuances and is very knowledgeable about food and customs all over the Italy. She helped us plan our trip for this summer and her advice is certain to make a difference in how much our family gets out of the visit. In addition, Giulia is very accommodating in terms of times and flexibility in how she teaches. She is teaching both me and my wife and even brought her children who also speak Italian to teach my child! I am amazed that after about six to eight lessons, I found myself able to understand most of when she speaks to me (which she does almost the entire lesson), and even hobble through simple conversations. She really makes learning a language fun and I would highly recommend her as a tutor to anyone!

I very much enjoyed meeting Giulia and working with her today. I look forward to our future sessions. We share a love of languages and international experiences. 2/11/15 We had our third meeting today. I find that I understand more when Giulia is speaking and I am getting a better overview of the things I want to learn. My goal is to be able to converse with my husband's relatives when we go to Rome in April. I also want to be able to communicate with Italians in all the places we will visit during our trip.

Giuila has been so wonderful for my son! He really wants to learn Italian and get high school credit through our distance learning program, and she has been great about taking him through the textbook, giving him outside resources, quizzes, etc. She is very patient and explains concepts very well, and she is always so POSITIVE and encouraging that he actually enjoys their class time together. We are so pleased to have found her!

Guilia tutored myself and my husband for several months. She was prompt, always had our lessons planned, and very enthusiastic. We would recommend her highly.

Giulia tailors her teaching methods to the client's needs. My friends and I were interested in conversation and basic grammar in preparation for an upcoming vacation. Her focus is on the practical use of the language, not just verb conjugation, etc. She has also provided additional resources to assist us with at home practice. She is flexible on time, and offers both in person and on line classes. We find her to be very personable and enthusiastic. She pushes us without being pushy. Highly recommended.

I was nervous and a bit self conscious going into the lesson. Giulia instantly put me at ease. Good teachers continually assess their students and use what they learn about their students to lift their level of proficiency and their confidence. Giulia did just that! I am very optimistic that I will improve and am very appreciative for her responsive teaching. I am truly looking forward to my next lesson!

I have enjoyed being tutored by Giulia. We have been meeting at a coffee shop at least once a week for lessons for the past 6 months and it has been easy and stress free. Giulia initially evaluated my Italia skills, which at that point were only Rosetta Stone capable, and tailored a program for me. I wanted to really learn the language beyond just how to order in an Italian restaurant and she quickly got me up to speed on conjugating verbs in the various tenses and from that point on the foundation quickly progressed to the point that I can now read and write Italian with confidence and my conversational skills are much, much improved. I introduced a friend to Giulia as she was planning a trip to Rome and wanted to brush up on Italian phrases to get her around the shopping and vineyard visits that she had planned and she raved about how easy and satisfying it was to work with Giulia. So, if you want to learn the language "in depth" as I do or just want some tips and common phrases to get around on your visit to Italy, I would highly recommend Giulia. She is a great instructor and a lot of fun to work with.

I have studied Italian for several years through a variety of classes and methods but have never taken a class in the language. Even though I can "get by" with my language skills on trips to Italy, I want to improve. Giulia is very good at helping me identify my areas of weakness. Then, she gives me meaningful assignments that will help me eliminate errors while I strengthen grammar and vocabulary skills.

Giulia is my conversational Italian tutor. Since I've studied and practiced Italian for many years, I need to maintain and improve my speaking proficiency more than learn new grammar. Giulia helps me come up with conversation topics so I can prepare for my next lesson and artfully guides me through conversations in Italian with her. As a language teacher myself, I am aware that Giulia is a second language teacher who gives her students the right mixture of patience, positive feedback, and correction. Too much correction to speaking creates self-consciousness and holds students back. Giulia, on the other hand, stays positive and supportive at all times. I especially enjoy Giulia's bubbly, outgoing personality. She really makes the lessons fun, and before I know it, I've learned a lot.

Giulia is a responsive, flexible, and very capable Italian tutor who did a fantastic job preparing my daughter to pronounce the words of a classic soprano aria in just one lesson! Brava!!

Giulia helps me keep my attention on each lesson by making me try to correct my own mistakes and steps to explain something when I am lost. This way, she really makes me think more about what I am saying and writing.

Giulia helps me every week to learn the Italian language. She is helping me to prepare for my trip to Italy in May. She is patient and is willing to repeat what she says if I do not understand her. She is a very good teacher!
