I recently found Sheila through this website and was hesitant at first to even use a tutor. I learn best through hands-on instruction, memorization and I am very picky about who I learn from when it comes to my grades! However, when I took my first session, I knew it was meant to be. Also learning that her children were home-schooled and very successful (grades,college) made me realize that her help could benefit me in a big way! You can tell she has the experience, teaching homeschool etc. and Mrs. Shelia will boost your confidence when you see that the tough math questions are possible in under one minute instead of my usual 3 or skipping. Strategy is also a key ingredient to almost anything you work on, and she not only works the problems out but shows you several different ways to solve each individual question. I can definitely tell a difference from when I was working on my own to when I got a tutor. I have improved my focus, knowledge, and overall skills! Sheila, in one session, helped my son have the confidence to work through math problems in the SAT book by her positive comments and support. After the session was over he mentioned there were several things he was not aware of on the SAT that proved to be helpful in him getting the right answers on a practice test he took in critical reading. After the tools she used to help him better understand the ETS and how it is written, he scored 23 out of 25 correct on the critical reading. He usually did not even attempt to finish an assignment like that before he knew what tools he could use to work his way through it more efficiently. That says a great deal about how much she cares about helping her students.
