My name is Teri G. and I am a former classroom teacher. I began my teaching career in the Georgia Pre-K program and then taught kindergarten through 2nd grade at Sanders Elementary, in Cobb County. I also have tutored the past three years from grades pre-k-5th. I loved being in the classroom, but tutoring gives me the opportunity to get to know my students and focus on certain academic areas. One year in 2nd grade I received a new student who was autistic. I spent a lot of time with his mother who helped me learn the best ways to work with him. I learned hands on for 3 months until the county I worked in provided an aide, and the last I heard he has successfully completed 8th grade. I have the patience and desire to work with special needs students, and have been successful with them in a classroom setting. Being in a tutoring setting would allow for much greater learning to occur.

Ms. Teri is a wonderful person, during the first meeting when I interviewed her, she was easy to speak with and was like an open book. Inviting her into my home was so easy. Once meeting with my kids she took to them (7 year old daughter and 5 year old son) immediately, my kids could be a hand full, however she has been very patient with them and my kids have grown to love her dearly. They were not doing well in school initially, but since she started teaching, there was a great progress in their report. Apart from tutoring she was able to influence them to listen and change some certain attitudes which was a great plus for me. She is very patient, dependable, time conscious- she is always came on time. My 5 year old was able to read fluently, do mentally tasking activities considered above his age. My daughter not only did well in school, she was also able to stay on tasks. Ms. Teri also gave me a plan of activities she had planned for my children and also gave me updates with her progress. I will definitely recommend her to anyone else, she is by far the best of all the tutors I have had.
