I've been teaching private music lessons since 2001, with experience including traditional and jazz piano, electric, acoustic, and classical guitar (as well as banjo), trumpet and trombone, drum set and concert percussion (including 4 mallet technique), and tutoring in theory and musicianship. My student-teaching placement at Vallivue Middle & High School involved usage of my pedagogical training in brass instruments. I often used the trombone & trumpet to model for band students. The training in brass instruments was a requirement for my B.A. in Music Education (K12), and I have a teaching certificate for the same in Idaho, which qualifies me to teach band at the secondary level.
