Danizza the Writer: Academics and Athletics
Growing up, my parents wanted me to be involved in something extracurricular. They asked me what I wanted to do. I chose theatre, speech, drama, soccer, volleyball, basketball, reading, writing, and student council. I participated in some sort of activity year round. It kept me busy, productive, constantly learning, and most importantly, I made lasting relationships and learned how to be part of a team. I love playing volleyball and soccer. In high school, I took all of the theatre classes, including set construction and design. My senior year, I was appointed "foreman" of the set crew. I also assisted with the costume department. I was cast in the following plays: Fiddler on the Roof Twelfth Night Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Hamlet Tribute to Rodgers and Hammerstein and a children's theatre camp I was part of creating/coordinating. I participated as part of the school's drama club, attending the state competition each year in the category of mime. I also made the final round in stage/set design and costume.
