Ms. Christine has helped me to read much better than I did when I first started working with her last year when I was in 3rd grade. We start our sessions with recognizing sounds beginning with ones that I already know and then she teaches me harder sounds and helps me learn those. This has helped me to get a lot better with my reading speed. I can read at least three levels higher since I started working with Ms. Christine and I am not embarrassed anymore to read out loud in school. At school, I am now usually in the highest level of reading groups in my class. Ms. Christine always lets me choose books that I like and has fun activities and prizes at each session. We also work on art and she helps me make comic strips and drawings from the books we are reading. She is one of the nicest teachers I know and gives surprises when we are done with our sessions. -My 10 year old son I am glad that Ms. Christine is helping me with my reading. I've gotten a lot better since I started working with her last year and now; in 1st grade, I have gotten a ton better. She helps me sound out words. She makes me feel comfortable and we have fun while we are doing our reading practice. We also play games that are for learning and are more interesting than if we were to just spend the whole time sounding out words and I am still learning while we play the games; and it's more fun. She gives really cool prizes that are different from what she gives my brother because she knows that we like different things. -My 7 year old daughter

I came to America less than a year ago, and couple of months later, I started my first session with Chris, and studied together exactly 6 months. I took TOEFL last week and got 105, which was way higher than I expected. There is no way I can achieve this score without Chris. She gave several sets of practice tests, kept track on how I was doing on Reading and Listening, and explained what I needed more. Also, she has vast amount of TOEFL questions and topics. During 6 months, I believe we cover all different types of topics, and she explained further information whenever I had a difficulty understanding (from American culture to even some evolution themes as long as those are related to TOEFL). When I took test, I was able to very comfortable since I knew at least something about all of topics. One of things I appreciate the most about Chris is that she focused on individual’s own weaknesses. She caught my specific pronunciation mistakes, and kept working on how I can improve. She recorded sample words and sent to me so I can practice myself. And when I recorded back and sent to her, she was so happy for my effort and willing to give a feedback. During our last couple of sessions, she provided “good words for me to speak", which means easier and clear words for me to pronounce without mistakes, so that I can use them during the test. As far as Writing, this would be most foreigners worst enemy (at least for me), but believe me, as long as you write something and give it to her, you will receive the best feedback. She explained a basic structure of TOEFL writing and trained me how I can increase credibility, logic and all little details including grammar issues. I found myself becoming more comfortable writing essay. She is really patient, passionate and perceptive teacher. I felt stuck and frustrated very often, but she has been really persistent and lightened up the mood. I feel very lucky that I can have Chris as my first teacher and I would wholeheartedly recommend Chris to anyone learning TOEFL!

Christine is truly the best English tutor! When I started my classes with Christine in October my Toefl score was 84 and this was a way lower score than what I needed. We had one class a week focusing on the Toefl speaking part and the proper English pronunciation. Whitin other week days Christine guide me with my homework and helped with my writing.
