I have a BS in Journalism and a minor in English. Right after college, I tutored for a company for children ages 6-10 and I currently volunteer as an ESL tutor for the Literacy Council here in the Greater Rockford Area. My favorite part of tutoring is what I call the "light bulb" moment - that moment when the learner realizes that he or she CAN do whatever it is he or she had initially thought impossible. All of my ESL learners have been adults, and I believe in the cause of adult literacy...
