I have been working within a classroom setting for Special Education for K-3. I am a individual aide for a 16 year old who is Autistic. While working int he K-3 classroom I helped to implement work stations, a picture schedule system, and a sensory/listening area to help the over-stimulated student. The high school student that I am currently working with we have a small work area that we use daily to work through the course work from the instructor. We still use the picture schedule to chart our day and are beginning to use planner to help him transition to become more self-sufficient.

I have worked with students that have met the criteria for ADD/ADHD and helped them to set up better study habits. I have used a list method and color coded method on vocabulary cards along with color coding the notes being taken from readings.

12-6-11 We have been tutoring with Nikki now for five weeks and my daughter feels a lot more comfortable with math. I"m very thankful we started this and it is working out so well for us!!!
