My name is Alaa. I am a Christian Palestinian born in Jerusalem and grew up in Bethlehem. I live in Wheaton, Illinois with my wife and two daughters. I have a B.A in biblical studies, and an MA degree in biblical history. I am currently doing a second MA in archaeology and after that I am looking forward to do my Ph.D in Archaeology. He is very flexible as he finds the way that you are most comfortable learning whether it is spoken Jerusalem Arabic or Fusha, taught verbally or from the book. Alaa is an excellent language tutor. I've worked with roughly half a dozen Arabic tutors in the past 3 years and Alaa easily outshines them all by comparison. When we meet, we usually just practice conversation (my preference) but he also is attentive to explain grammar and vocabulary issues. Alaa speaks clearly and intentionally enunciates difficult syllables in a manner most Arabic speakers overlook when tutoring a language-learner. Alaa also demonstrates patience and an encouraging spirit, both of which are uplifting for students. I strongly recommend Alaa for any beginner, intermediate or advanced Arabic speaker.

I highly recommend Alaa for Arabic tutoring. He is professional and engaging. My 14 year old enjoys her weekly lessons with him and he is fabulous about being flexible if her crazy schedule needs to change last minute. We really appreciate that. Alaa uses a book to follow for as his curriculum and that has worked well. Again, we have really enjoyed working with Alaa and plan to continue weekly lessons to keep up our daughter's language skills as best we can.
