Hello! I currently teach Spanish in the Foreign Language Department at Northern Illinois University. I have a Masters in Spanish Literature and ten years of teaching experience. I have lived in Spain and Argentina (through a Fulbright teacher exchange) and traveled to several other Spanish speaking countries. I believe in using a communicative, fun and relaxed approach to teaching Spanish. I am flexible and can tailor the tutoring sessions to meet your individual needs....

I very much enjoyed working with Kerry in practicing my conversational Spanish skills and reviewing key grammar points. She's reliable and encouraging; she takes notes to provide me with study points, uses good supplemental materials, but doesn't rely on or require textbook drills. Instead, Kerry is able to point me to particular readings and exercises for the practice related to my abilities and challenges. She's also very personable and easy to talk with. I also like that she's a current teacher of Spanish at the college level and has traveled to and lived in Spanish-speaking countries, so she also understands the context and different dialects of Spanish. So, she brings an easy-going expertise to her tutoring.
