Marianne N. is an excellent Spanish tutor. My freshman daughter was struggling in her Spanish 1 class. She was getting more and more frustrated, felt very lost in class. The classroom instruction wasn't sinking in. Her grades were inconsistent, averaging a low B/high C by sheer will. Her homework assignments were what kept the grade passable but her quiz and test scores showed the true story, that she wasn't comprehending the lessons. She came to me, almost in tears, and said she needed help. Her teacher thought an older student may be able to help, but I knew my daughter needed more professional and personalized attention, tutoring that could be customized to her needs and adapted to help her accelerate and deepen her learning. We found Marianne while researching WyzAnt and was impressed by her resume, but more so by her reviews. We are so glad we found her! From the initial introduction and set-up, Marianne has been professional, prompt and flexible. My daughter's feedback from the first session (and on) was that this was a perfect fit. She felt a huge sense of relief, and that a great weight had been lifted off her shoulders. We had a little over a month to prepare for finals. Marianne performed an initial assessment, identifying learning gasps and better understanding how my daughter learned best. They got to work, filling the cracks in her foundational knowledge, keeping up with current assignments, and preparing for the ultimate test, the dreaded finals. Marianne recommended twice weekly tutoring sessions which my daughter, even with her busy schedule, embraced with no hesitation. We started to see more consistent grades and increased confidence, best of all, she got a solid "A" on her final (and a B+ overall for the term)! My daughter is continuing to receive weekly tutoring, it's a valuable complement to her schooling. I get summaries from their sessions, promptly and full of relevant details, which I find incredibly helpful. She has a strong relationship with my daughter and my daughter is addicted to her weekly sessions, they're that good. I would rate Marianne an 11 on a 10 scale, and would highly recommend her.

Marianne works real well with my daughter in teaching her in her problem areas in Spanish II. She worked with her prior to taking the lessons in narrowing down where her issue areas were and focused on those areas. Her grade in Spanish went from a low C to an A. In my daughter's one hour session the first 30 minutes is going over her upcoming homework or quiz/tests and then they go over her weak areas which she found quite quickly. She gives my daughter the confidence to succeed. Throughout the year Marianne has been a wonderful tutor to my daughter.
