Cathleen is a recent graduate with her Master of Arts degree in Secondary Education: Language Arts from Northeastern Illinois University. During her time there, she worked as a tutor for the America Reads Program where her students exhibited impressive gains in reading in the classroom. She also worked with the reading teacher at Ramirez High School in a clinical internship. Community involvement includes "The Beach Poets" which she founded and has hosted since 1990.
