I am happy to have met an instructor who really knows how to work logic games. Neil explains the process step by step and is patient during the process. Thank you for another great learning session.

Before taking the LSAT and before finding Neil, I was doing all of my studying on my own and feeling pretty lost and hopeless. The LSAT seemed like a never-ending, impossible test, and I had no idea how to approach it. We found Neil through Wyzant, and he is honestly the best tutor I have ever had for any subject. For our first meeting he had an entire lesson planned out to teach me the fundamentals of logic, which he explained would help me understand each part of the LSAT. Each meeting he had detailed notes that he forwarded to me by email along with pages of study questions. We began our studying about 8 weeks before I took the LSAT. We started with Logic Games, which he knows BACKWARDS and FORWARDS. He taught me how to master the games by transcribing the rules of each game and making logic chains. I rarely if ever got a single question wrong when completing the logic games section. This is definitely his area of expertise. Next, we conquered Logical Reasoning. Neil broke down this area of the LSAT into question types, which we conquered one by one. Each session I went home with pages of practice questions for each question type. I completed each series of question type study questions, and then Neil and I would go over the ones I got wrong the next session. In this way, we were able to figure out which question types I had the most trouble with and spend more time on those. This helped me feel comfortable with any question that appeared on the LSAT because I had already seen it in practice. Also, I left feeling a certain mastery over certain question types like "flaws," "necessary assumptions," "identifying the main point of the argument," and of course "logic games." I also knew to expect trouble with "sufficient assumptions," "principles," "similar flaw in reasoning," and "applying principles." Because I was comfortable with the reading comprehension section we did not spend as much time on it, and we were able to focus more on the Logical reasoning questions that I had trouble with above. All in all, this was an excellent experience that left me feeling prepared for the LSAT. If I am not content with my score I plan on studying with Neil again to focus on the questions with which I have the most trouble. Neil is very receptive to any fears you have about taking the test and has so much experience that he knows how to best prepare you and make you feel at ease.

I have used a few different tutors on Wyzant and none was better than Neil. I reached out to Neil to get help with the verbal section of the GMAT. Typically, I score high in math and low in verbal. However, I ended up scoring higher on the verbal than on the math portion of the GMAT. Neil is THE BEST!

Neil helped increase my GMAT score 5 points in verbal in only TWO hours! He provided some key sentence structure hints, and highlighted some common pitfalls in the sentence correction section.

Neil provides his students with everything they need to succeed on the test. I never lacked material to practice with, and was always able to reach out in between sessions for help via email. He even spent time outside of our sessions analyzing my work, defining my trouble areas, and figuring out how to help. This way, I always got the most out of the time we had face to face. Neil distills the information you need to know to do well in a way that you can't find in any LSAT prep book. He teaches you how to approach the test by building a solid foundation in logic. Not only that, but he was always willing to be accommodating for any schedule changes, so it's always possible to sneak a meeting in. Neil is so great that I was even willing to make an hour long round trip for our sessions!

Several GMAT verbal tutoring sessions materially improved my score. Neil has a very thoughtful approach and focuses on developing basics, not simply teaching to the test. I highly recommend Neil. His easy going personality also provides a great backdrop to learning.

Neil is as good a teacher as I've ever had. He's patient, encouraging, and flexible. He takes an unconventional approach to the GMAT verbal section, which, having also studied with MGMAT and Kaplan, is superior to the elite test prep companies. He takes the time to teach you the basics before diving into complex material. As a result, his students are better prepared and more confident during the real test. I'd recommend Neil to any- and everyone. I improved from the 55th to 93rd percentile in about 10 sessions. I couldn't have it without him!
