My teens have only had one session (AP Calc) with Vikki, but our initial impressions are very positive. First, she was very good about trying to find a rate that would work for us as well as her - two kids tutored at once-same subject-similar ability, etc. The girls felt very good about their first session and felt that what made her good was not just telling them what to do, but letting them struggle a bit and giving them some guidance as they tried to understand. Then also 'testing' them on a similar problem to see if they 'got it'. Update 12/30/12. Vikki has now been tutoring my senior girls for several months and we continue to be very pleased. She has a very quiet, thoughtful approach to trying to determine what each of them need to work on and has done a great job helping us to figure out where the 'holes' were for one who had suffered a concussion. Lovely, smart and caring.

I needed to study for the ASVAB (military intelligence test), and I only had about a week to do it. I went from a score on the practice test issued by my recruiter of 35 (low) to 67 (very high) in three hour-long sessions with Vikki. She is an amazing tutor - easy to understand, and very patient. Update: I just took the ASVAB, and I got an 82 - one of the biggest jumps in scores my recruiter had ever seen. Four words. Five out of Five. I'm a British university student having a vacation (but had to study as well, bummer!) and while we didn't spend much time that I have hoped for, she was brilliant in all lessons I had with her. He explained to Vikki his learning style and she thanked him for his input and changed her delivery, which was more suited to his mode of learning. The second hour was much better. He really appreciated her professionalism and started to understand the material much better.
