I have found most students need to hear material twice. Rarely do they fully understand nor appreciate the first time a lesson is presented to them. They still need to have the information presented at least one more time and maybe more. The sciences require a new way of thinking for the traditional student to fully appreciate it. Richard tutored my Freshman in high school in honors biology. Her grade has improved tremendously since she began working with him and she actually understands the material well now. She is confident and her attitude toward the subject has improved. He makes the effort prior to each session to learn the material and to be able to teach it in a way that is easy to understand and beneficial.
