I have been a special education teacher for 19 years. During that time, I have worked with students with different disabilities and ranges of abilities. As a result of my experience and training , I have helped many students find success by helping them to understand themselves and develop strategies to aid in their understanding of the material. I received my undergraduate degree from Illinois State University in learning disabilities and behavior disorders. My Masters in the Arts of Teaching is from Aurora University. In addition, I have my coursework and credentials in Elementary Education as well as an endorsement in ESL. I have worked with students on the spectrum for many years. By understanding the different sensory, social and motivational needs experienced by this unique group of individuals, I have helped my students to become successful in their academics .
