I received a Master's Degree in Special Education (Mild Disabilities) in August 2006 from Indiana University at South Bend, which included study of methods and best practices when teaching Attention Defecit Disorder children. Prior to that honor and during my study, I taught at a residential school where I worked one-on-one with numerous ages of students with ADD and ADD/HD for approximately four years. I found the most effective instruction occurred when teaching with a computerized courseware program (closed internet system) in a lab situation. I have transferred that valuable experience to my individualized tutoring style in which I have been successful in helping students focus when suffering from the intensity of a myriad of stimuli from ADD/HD.

It is so hard to put into words how happy I am that Don accepted my son to tutor. Don is very professional, we learned that from the very start of the sessions. Don has been an excellent tutor for my son David. He is an experienced teacher well versed in many areas. He was originally hired to help prepare my son for his SAT's but we have since broadened that out to cover any area of his studies. Don informed David that he could call him any time day or night if he had a question about any schoolwork. He also took the initiative to talk in person to David's English lit. teacher about some writing issues at no extra cost. It's clear that Don is not in this solely for the money but genuinely loves teaching and helping students realize their full potential. All in all his pleasing personality , years of experience and breadth of knowledge make Don a superb tutor.

Don tutors my boys (8th grade down to Kindergarten) and has been extremely patient with all of them. Since he started he has been able to help my oldest son gain confidence in math and writing.. and he got his first "A" on a math test in over 2 years! My younger boys are continuing to grow in their math skills and he makes it fun for each of them while keeping their personalities in mind.
