My son is studying to take the ISEE and has significant catch-up to do in math. When I went to pick him up at the library at the end of his session, he gently resisted -- he was having too much fun subtracting and working through word problems! Thank you, Andrea!!

I am impressed with Andrea S's strategy. She first made sure that she understood what my daughter hoped to gain from the tutoring sessions (set expectations). Right away my daughter was happy as Andrea S listened to her wants and needs. She then told her how she expected to be able to do this. Again she set up expectations that my daughter had a part in. She asked if this sounded reasonable. From the first 2 hour lesson I saw improvements. The improvement was my daughter turning off the radio when she did home work for Andrea S. I asked her about this. She said there is no music when taking the SAT so it is best that she mimics the environment. I think this is the first time she has ever done quiet homework. The other improvement was her willingness to read to me. She asked if I would like her to read to me! I would. And she did. Andrea S and my daughter have had only 2 - 2 hour sessions and already I see improvements.

Andrea has been working with my 15 year old son. She knows when to be firm with him and when to give him space. She is patient with him and really understands his struggles. He has learned a lot from Andrea. I highly recommend her.

We have worked with Andrea to help my Son prepare for SAT's. He was very reluctant to start this tutoring as he was being nagged in school by his teachers and support staff. My son is 16 and Dyslexic. He had a low self esteem and Andrea was able to show him that he knew the answers he was just getting confused with the formulas to use in math and needed to make his essays longer for english. He is now ready for the exams and believes in himself. All thanks to Andrea who knew when he had checked out; when he was trying to play her and when it really was his best effort. I would totally recommend Andrea!!!

Currently, Andrea has helped with prealgebra and algebra 1 in preparation for the ACT. Andrea is patent and kind, and for student like me with Asperger's and NLD these qualities greatly assist my ability to learn. I would highly recommend Andrea to anyone with learning disabilities.

My daughter has only had three lessons with Andrea so far, but she is very happy. She is starting to feel more confident in her abilities and has done better on her last two quizzes. She looks forward to working with her for the rest of the semester.
