I have a BA in Social Science, with a concentration in Elementary Education. autism

I am a Behavioral Health Professional, certified in the State of Maine. I have 10 years experience working one on one with children with Autism. These children have ranged form 4-18 years old, and have been on a wide range of the spectrum, from non-verbal to high functioning. Additionally, I have many hours of experience as a substitute teacher in Special Education Classrooms and I am familiar with the curriculum and have the ability to adapt my teaching methods for each individual's strengths and challenges.

Aspergers

I have had many successes working with children with Aspergers. As a substitute teacher in the Special Education program at MSAD #60, I often worked one on one with children and found many techniques to engage, and focus them on the subject matter. Additionally, as Behavior Health Professional, I have 8 years working with children in their homes and community, teaching life skills, coping mechanisms and modifying inappropriate or unsafe behaviors. Each child deserves to have every opportunity to succeed. My goal is to give them the tools to do this.

ADD/ADHD

I have 10 years of experience working one-on-one with children with learning challenges, including ADD/ADHD, Asperger's, and Autism. I have many hours of experience as a substitute teacher in Special Education Classrooms. I understand the challenges these students face, and adapt my teaching methods to their individual strengths and challenges.
