I have had more than 30 years' experience working with my own children, who have very different learning styles, and as a secondary school teacher of ESL, English and social studies. As both a teacher and a parent, I have helped children and adolescents develop strategies for effective reading, writing and test preparation. As a teacher I took courses and participated in in service training on study skills and effective reading and writing, and on occasion I also led training sessions for my colleagues.
