elementary (k-6th)
I taught elementary level students over a period of about 10 years as a classroom teacher, and continued after that as a visiting science presenter. I worked in private schools where multidisciplinary approaches were used, integrating writing into math and science classes. In one school I worked with students in small groups on independent study projects, which gave me a lot of experience in working with students as individuals as well as as a class. Combined with my earlier work in experiential and outdoor education, I feel that this gives me a unique set of skills to bring to a student's education.
