Shirin M. has far surpassed our expectations in a tutor. She is working with our 17-year old daughter in the very challenging subject of Calculus. Shirin had a tough assignment as a tutor because our daughter, who was taking an self-taught, online Calculus course through her high school, found out right before winter break that she had fallen close to two months behind in her class. This put her in the difficult position of catching up on more than what could be called a considerable amount of work before she would be allowed to re-enroll for the second semester. How fortunate we were that Shirin was available this very busy week of the year to offer our daughter 20 hours of individual tutoring (not to mention emotional support) for this daunting challenge! Shirin even took on this assignment while on her vacation week from her own full-time day job...wow! Shirin has been prompt to our sessions, professional, encouraging, patient, flexible with scheduling, and thorough in her tutoring. She knows not just how to do the problems herself, but how to teach our daughter to understand and solve the work on her own - this is a skill that not every tutor/teacher has. We are confident that between our daughter's determination to succeed and Shirin's tutoring, our daughter will achieve the goal of re-enrollment for her second semester.
