I have spent 30 years as a research biologist/geneticist/microbiologist. All of those years involved teaching hands-on lab work with high school, college and post-bac students as well as technicians and post-doctoral fellows. As well as helping students keep good lab notes and write ups of their research, and present clearly in public.
