ADD/ADHD

As a certified special education teacher (with a Master's Degree in dual General Ed and Special Ed), I am qualified to teach ages 3-21 and all grades (K-12) as well as all content areas of subjects: ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science and I love it!! I presently work with children with special needs (i.e Autistic, ADD/ADHD, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, to name a few) as well as students in the general ed setting. As an educator, I make certain that my students are given learning accommodations and modifications during all lessons. Due to on-going tutoring and support, my students have shown confidence and are pleased about him/herself. Strategies/techniques: Comfortable environment (sometimes more structured learning environment is needed) Labeled and colored folders for order Simplified and repeated instructions/directions as needed Large prints of worksheet and other materials Learning and other visual study aids Students with ADD/ADHD (or other identified special needs) are given extra time.
