ADD/ADHD
One of my very first teaching jobs was at an alternative day school for students with ADD/ADHD, Aspergers and Autism. Currently I three students in my classroom with ADHD. I have also been supporting/tutoring a 9-year-old girl for the past three years. I have not only taught her reading and writing, but also strategies that will allow her to be successful in school despite her ADHD.

Because of this, I have taken several workshops in helping me to best meet these students' unique needs and to educate them along with their peers.

Denika is an incredible educator. We are fortunate we found her to tutor our eight year old son who has been struggling with phonics. She is kind, positive, fun and has the right authority to command his attention. It is so helpful that she is a teacher in the same county district that our son attends. This means she understands and is familiar with his curriculum. She is very organized and clear in her approach. She brings materials and gives us exercises to do at home with our son. And our son enjoys his sessions with Denika! His reading is improving every week. We are grateful for Denika's professionalism and kindness.
