We hired Amie for a last minute attempt to raise our son's SAT scores. We only had a week and hired Amie for 5 sessions (not the best plan to enact a change, should have spread it out over weeks). Amie was very flexible and worked well with our son. We had asked Amie to work on both reading and math. While the reading score did not change, his math score shot up from 630 to 730, a huge difference. Our son felt Amie was very easy to work with, provided teaching he could easily understand and followed a good plan of action. Would certainly recommend her. Thanks Amie!

Amie has tutored my two children in math on a weekly basis since September 2013. There's no question when working with her that she will be the smartest person in the room. But, I did find her disposition and methods of pedagogy wanting. If you do not already love the subject material and/or don't get it the first time, she is not the most understanding or empathetic. A great tutor should be able to get on the student's level and teach the material in a way they understand - this includes pacing, adapting personalities, and techniques for remembering the subject. In summation, she's highly bright and qualified but does not connect with you or your learning style to ideally teach the subject matter.

My daughter takes an online Chemistry class. Amie would look ahead at her assignments and bring in supplies to do lab assignments. She was always concerned that she really understood her Chemistry. She knew how to break down the Chemistry problems so my daughter could do them. Amie is the reason she did so well. Amie was always on time and would change times if needed. We presented Amie with an a very difficult task. My son had failed two geometry tests (one I found out about only that day) and he had only two days to re-take and pass both tests or he would lose the ability to play summer baseball. In one hour, Amie not only managed to go over all the info for both tests, she also left my son with the notes he needed to study further on his own. My son said he felt very comfortable working with Amie, and I could tell she was very knowledgeable, patient, and was able to clearly explain the problems to him. We haven't gotten the results yet, but my son feels confident he passed both tests. I will absolutely be calling Amie if we need a tutor again.

Amie has been tutoring my daughter and her friend for three weeks now. She alternates between Chemistry Honors and Algebra II Honors depending on what subject the girls feel they need help with that week. Amie is a very good, patient math tutor. She answers her phone calls , is patient with me. The math that Amie is helping me with is veterinary math. That is algebra in form of problems.
