I have worked with many students with ADD/ADHD. As a tutor, I find that the one-on-one interaction gives the ability to foster a strong interpersonal relationship that gives the student the flexibility to refocus his energy. With students diagnosed with ADD it is essential that we maximize the students' ability to concentrate. I thus teach the students in a calm environment and often give students checklists (agendas) of what they will learn that day, which allows the student to focus more clearly because they can anticipate what will come next.

His school district required a placement test to place students in the appropriate math class for next year.
