Yes, her hourly rate is much higher than most others on WyzAnt, but she is extremely helpful and her work is exemplary. She is well prepared for every meeting and not only did she give my daughter excellent advice about essay writing (for ACT essay and for applications), but after every lesson she wrote a thoughtful summary with advice, instructions, assignments, and more. The instruction not only helped with the college app efforts, but they improved my daughter's writing and her savvy in how to formulate essays - skills that also have helped her in her last year of HS and will carry over to her college work. My daughter was admitted to most all the schools to which she applied, including some quite prestigious schools which I thought were reaches. Whether Jana's help made the difference or not, there's no question that her efforts made my daughter a better student and a better writer.

Jana is one of the most thoroughly organized and completely prepared 'teachers' I've ever encountered. She is so well prepared for lessons that not a single minute is wasted on "busy work". At their first meeting, Jana quickly identified what our son needed to work on to raise his score. Every assignment was geared to our student's specific needs. Homework assignments were laid out thoughtfully, with everything he needed to get on with the work. Our son had a good score to begin with, and after a few hours of Jana's time plus working on those home assignments, he bumped it up by 2 points. Jana is also very responsive to questions and very flexible with scheduling. When our younger child is ready to begin preparation, we will be asking Jana for help again.

Let me tell you all regarding my son and the significant progress Jana P. has helped him accomplish. We are so happy with the sessions our daughter had with Jana. She is very organized. Each session was well planned out ahead of time and she did an excellent job of keeping our daughter on track. We were also provided with a detailed overview after each lesson of what was covered and a homework checklist for the next lesson. Jana works extremely hard in both her preparation of each lesson and in her followup of work accomplished, updated scores, etc. Our daughter had a big jump in her scores and we are extremely pleased. We hired Jana to tutor for the GRE. She assigned a series of skills tests before the first session to establish a baseline. Thereafter she targeted instruction on weak areas in math, verbal, and writing. She knows what she is doing. She is informed on the structure of the test and she is capable in the skills areas.
