Patient and Personalized Math and Physics Help

I find that students have a wide range of needs and learning styles. Some students just need a little extra boost to get them through a tough spot in a class. Some students need someone to sit with them while doing homework to keep them on track. Some students need coaching on how to even approach the study Math or Physics. Some students learn better by having concepts explained clearly. Some students learn better if they are asked a series of leading questions, so that they find the answers ...

differential equations

In my undergrad, I completed a class on ordinary differential equations, a class on partial differential equations, and a class on electromagnetism that heavily used partial differential equations in the context of vector calculus. In grad school, I completed a course in conduction heat transfer and a course in convection heat transfer. Both of these focused on analytical solutions of the partial differential equations that govern heat transfer and fluid flow. I also completed two courses in computional fluid dynamics in grad school, which focus on numerical solutions to the partial differential equations that govern heat transfer and fluid flow. My PhD thesis work was numerical modeling of plasma flow, which expanded computational fluid dynamics to include the partial differential equations that are specific to the flow of a thermal plasma.

C++

I completed a class in C++ during my undergrad. In grad school, I used C++ extensively in two classes on computation fluid dynamics. My PhD work was based around the computation fluid dynamic package OpenFOAM, which is written in C++. I still work in OpenFOAM in my free time, which takes full advantage of the object oriented nature of C++.

mechanical engineering

I earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. During my PhD, I specialized in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow. I am currently working as an engineer at a large, technology based, manufacturing company where I do R and D. At my job, I pull on many different areas of mechanical engineering knowledge to develop new and innovative products.

David helped me with college physics 2 and rather than just show me how to do problems I didn't understand, he showed me a thought process and let me solve it for myself. If I made an error in my thinking he respectfully corrected me. I would recommend him!
