I have taught grades kindergarten through twelve in the area of special education. I have taught everything from basic phonics, vocabulary, spelling, math, social studies, and executive functioning skills. I love teaching and helping others be successful....
ADD/ADHD
I teach special needs students and have for 9 years. This includes students with ADD/ADHD disorders. After students are evaluated using the BRIEF exam, I look for deficiencies in executive functioning skills and help students in filling their life tool box for these skills. Such lessons include tools for organization, shifting from one task to another, chunking large task and initiating tasks.

I wrote my research paper for my specialist degree on autism. The paper was over 44 pages long and dealt with current research on autism and why number of children are increasing. I have taken numerous graduate level courses on autism and worked with these children in the classroom setting. Each autistic student is different, thus I would have to get to know their strengths in order to develop a tutoring program that meeds their needs.
