I am currently working with Esra to prepare for the GRE, and I have found her to be incredibly knowledgeable and patient. She has worked with me on strategies for solving problems more quickly and accurately, and taught me techniques for particular problem types that I would never have figured out on my own. Most importantly, she is kind, patient, easy to work with, and easy to ask questions of. Many math teachers I've had in the past can't resist correcting students, but Esra always allows me to try a problem to the very best of my ability before jumping in. During our last session I made a simple math mistake in the first step of a multi-step problem, and instead of immediately correcting me she stayed quiet for over two minutes until I noticed it myself. I think this composure allows students to develop their own sense of when something is "wrong" and they need to recheck their work--an essential instinct to develop for a long, computer-based exam like the GRE, where small transcription errors will almost inevitably be made. Esra is also very flexible regarding scheduling and appointment location. Overall, Esra's personal qualities and mastery of the subject matter make her an exceptional tutor that I would highly recommend.

Esra tutored me for the SAT. I was not satisfied with my first SAT score but thankfully, found Esra two weeks before my exam. We met about 4 times a week during that 2 week span. My score the second try drastically improved by 240 points! Most of the improvement was seen in the Critical Reading and Mathematics sections. On the first meet up, Esra ran a diagnostic test for me, to better understand my strengths and weaknesses. She identified the flaws in my Critical Reading section and gave me a new approach to doing such questions. She also taught me the important strategies I needed to know to effectively do the Mathematics section, especially on critical thinking questions.
