Ira was patient, knowledgeable, and very practical in his approach knowing we had only a short time to prepare for upcoming SAT. Today was my son's first scheduled Calculus lesson with Ira. He was very helpful in determining where my son's weaknesses in calculus lie. They worked through several problems and he gave my son some advice to make things easier for him going forward. We are looking forward to next week's lesson. Ira has consistently been a very helpful tutor throughout the sessions I have had with him. He is very knowledgeable about the material, and always knows how to best explain a problem in terms that I will quickly be able to grasp. He is very good at breaking down the problem, and walking me through each step. When I struggle to understand something, he is very patient with me and helps me understand the areas in which I am struggling. He's been very effective at assuring me that I am very capable with the material, and that I am also very capable of overall success in my class. For example, when I was working through a Calculus problem in review for an upcoming test, I was making a careless error. When he noted my error, instead of getting frustrated with me and trying to fix my error himself and write over my work, he simply offered support, and told me that I knew what I was doing, but I just needed to fully show my work on the problem in order to get the right answer. He is very encouraging when it comes to my accomplishments in this course, and has markedly enhanced my confidence with the material. I am very grateful for his tutoring services!

I really can't say enough about Ira! I am so glad we chose him over all of the rest! Math is a struggle for my son, has always been, and I'm no help because it was for me as well. Ira was able to help my son learn and understand the SAT math that his teachers, including an SAT prep class instructor, didn't take the time or effort to help him understand.
