Experienced elementary and secondary teacher
I grew up on a farm in La Grange, NC. I am married to Sandra with two children, Bradley, Kimberly, her husband Ivan. We have a lazy kitty by the name of Keebler. After being away from La Grange for 33 years, I moved back to the farm in June of 2015. A huge highlight in my life was teaching high school English in Hawaii for 2 years. This was a stretching experience where I learned much about myself and people from other cultures. After earning BA and Masters degrees in religious studies, I earned an EdD in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction 1990. In 2010 I received grades 6 to 12 English Language Arts teacher certification. My classroom teaching experience includes grade 4 math and science, high school English, elementary to high school substitute teaching, high school principal, and college level elementary methods courses. I have also tutored students in every place where I have taught. I have taught in South Carolina, Hawaii, and North Carolina. Presently I teach grade 4 math and science at Wayne Preparatory Academy where I am also the grade 4 lead teacher.
