I have worked with children with Asperger's and high functioning autism in the past. Since the area is so specialized and requires either a certified clinician or someone with a great deal of experience and awareness, I believe I do have that experience. I have a Master's Degree in Counseling and I have over two hundred hours of experience using Play Therapy for children with AS & HFA. My experience is with children 8 years and older and have utilized art therapy and cognitive behavior therapy. I believe using a tactile approach along with a white board and a basic textbook/study manual helps slow things down so the tutoring is done at the speed of the student.

I have worked with ADD/ADHD children in the past. I have several hundred hours of experience using Play Therapy which is a tremendous tool to help work with children as we tutor in subjects like math. Using a tactile approach along with a white board and a textbook/study manual helps slow things down so the tutoring is done at the speed of the child. Redundancy made fun helps the child retain what is learned and reveals strengths (successes) and weak areas (future successes). Another area to help the parents with the child is filial therapy which I have used extensively.
