I have always wanted to teach. Teaching is NOT a career I entered because I couldn't find anything else to do. It is a vocation that I aspired to have ever since I was a young girl. Upon graduation from college I began my career at a Head Start in the south Bronx. Later I taught at and intermediate school also in the Bronx. The 1970 teacher layoffs found me without a job.
