My inspiration for learning Spanish came at the age of seven. At that age, I met my best friend from Mexico, MarÃa. Her mother was a gracious host and took me in as her own, yet treated me as a royal guest. I began to get frustrated by the fact that I couldn't communicate directly with this beautiful woman, who I thought of as my second mom.
