I have been a Special Education teacher for the past 18 years. I have worked with all types of students in grades K-8. I have extensive experience working with ADD, ADHD, Aspergers Syndrome and behavior disorders. I have a degree in psychology which I use to help connect to the " difficult" students. I enjoy bringing laughter and life lessons to my work. My wife and I also started an anti bullying program that is now used in 8 schools in our district. We have given 100s of workshops...
ADD/ADHD
I have been a self contained special education teacher for the past 18 years. I have dealt with numerous students with ADD/ADHD and currently have 6 students in my class that have these conditions.
Aspergers
In my 18 years in a special education classroom, I have had well over 40 students with Autism, specifically Aspergers syndrome. I use various forms of technology to reach these students. I am currently using chapter books with characters that have Aspergers to help students relate to text. I use iPad and Chrome books to help reach these students need for different types of instruction. I also have a degree in psychology.
