I taught Art and Japanese at small private school (KG to 8thG.) NJ, more than 23 years. I have been teaching Japanese, Japanese Culture at Saturday Japanese School, West Chester NY. more than 27 years. Since my major is Art I am enjoying and teaching Japanese stroke paint called SUIBOKUGA(Sumie) too....

I am very happy I chose Izumi-san! She comes highly recommended!!! I have been going to Izumi-san since September of last year once a week. Now I can read Hiragana & Katakana. I can go to Mitsuwa and pick up words. Friends of mine are amazed at how much I have learned and a big part of that comes from the fact that Izumi-san is a wonderful teacher. She has loads of experience.. She wants the best for her student & my favorite part about learning from her is she keeps things interesting. Interesting enough for me to remember Japanese vocabulary or writing! She is very interactive, uses great tools (books, cards, games, SONGS!)

Izumi will read my daughter's graphic novels with her, cook Japanese meals, do origami and other artistic projects, and even go on field trips so that the lessons are interesting. She's got an amazing temperament and patience for tutoring. She's lovely.
