Veteran teacher seeking tutoring with regular or special ed students
I am a veteran teacher of 26+ years seeking tutoring jobs. I am regular and special education certified. I am creative, enthusiastic and enjoy working with children. I incorporate the child's curriculum and create fun lessons that are multi-modal whenever possible. I teach test preparation (NJ PARCC, PSAT,SAT), enrichment, study skills and most subject matter K-12, with the exception of foreign language. I look forward to enhancing your child's education....
ADD/ADHD
I have worked with many children who are diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. Some were medicated, some were not. We worked on managing anger, frustration, organization and increasing focusing individually and/or in groups.

Aspergers
I have run social skills groups for 12 years and have worked with many Aspergers/spectrum children. Skills included making and maintaining eye contact, initiating conversation, joining in at play, and responding appropriately to other social situations.

I currently work with Autistic children during a weekend social skills class. I work with verbal and non-verbal children. We work on life skills such as identifying emotions, going to a restaurant, playing on a playground, going shopping, riding public transportation etc. I use PECS with the non-verbal students.
