Outside-of-the-box Teacher!
Greetings! I began my teaching career 18 years ago, working with children who have severe intellectual and physical disabilities. I taught in a self-contained classroom in a public school, for 9 years. Throughout this period, I worked in collusion with speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, physicians, and parents/families to provide the best, individualized educational opportunities for the learners in my classroom. ADD/ADHD is covered through my NJ Teacher of the Handicapped certification, and classroom teaching experience. I have been teaching in both self-contained and inclusion classrooms, over the past 18 years, with students who have various degrees of attention deficit disorders. I have written both behavior modification plans, lesson plans, and IEP's for students with these, and other, diagnoses.
