Algebra 2 is a subject I am very confident in after taking so much math to get my biochemistry degree. I would break down the subject into easier steps to handle and practice with the student until they have got it down and can perform well on a test.

I can explain to students effectively aspects such as cosin, sin, tangent, similar triangles, and more. I personally like geometry and would be happy to break it down so that it is understandable.

I am so grateful to have had Jeffrey S. become my tutor for my chemistry dilemma. I am a good student in general but our chemistry teacher just can not teach!!! Last two class test averages were 54% and 56%. Its not us or me. Jeffrey S. appeared on time, was patient and quickly determined how to assess my difficulties and show me how to catch up to our lessons and then how to anticipate what would likely come next. He gave me the overview of the subject matter I needed to understand the theory and methods needed to solve the lesson problems on my own. In a sense, he taught me how to fish and now I hopefully can feed myself. Not only does he know his subjects extremely well, he has the gift of teaching!!!! I hired Jeffrey to tutor two of my children, one being a 6th-grader who was frustrated with math. After only a few sessions, Jeffrey not only brought him up to speed, but pointed out to him that he knows what he is doing and he should approach math more confidently. You should read that sentence again. Essentially, Jeffrey impacted my son’s development at a critical period in his school career (middle school) by engaging him in math and helping him to see his capabilities. That is priceless. By the third lesson they had reviewed 6th grade algebra and were ready to jump ahead of the class to give my son a head start on upcoming lessons. I would say Jeffrey worked himself out of a job, but my son actually enjoys the lessons and wants to continue. In addition to my 6th-grader, Jeffrey is working diligently to prepare my 17-year-old for the SATs. He has proven himself to be dependable and professional as well as patient and encouraging by meeting the student where he or she is. His lesson reviews are always in-depth, thoughtful and encouraging.
