I'm currently working on obtaining a PhD in Biology. Specifically, I'm studying the ecology, evolution, behavior, and neurobiology of singing in birds - a system of communication with many surprising parallels to human speech. While pursuing this degree, I teach classes to undergraduates as a lab instructor and mentor research students in a campus laboratory setting. I love working with students, because science is about curiosity and discovery - and each person brings new ideas to the table....
